Our story
How Wavvy Wallet started
Wavvy Wallet was born from a simple but frustrating problem.
After completing a consulting project and taking a short vacation, our founders realized they could no longer accurately track their personal and business spending. With dozens of daily M-Pesa transactions flowing through their phones, existing finance tools felt overly complicated and disconnected from how many Kenyans actually manage money.
The challenge became even more personal during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of our founders witnessed first-hand the financial strain that followed the collapse of a family business, highlighting how quickly financial uncertainty can affect individuals and families when visibility into income, expenses, and financial habits is limited.
These experiences inspired the creation of Wavvy Wallet, a privacy-first personal finance platform built for Kenyans. Today, Wavvy Wallet helps thousands of users in Kenya manage their money with more clarity, from tracking daily expenses and understanding spending habits to creating budgets and making smarter financial decisions through simple tools and AI-assisted insights designed around local financial realities.
